If I were to give my own personal definition of Ministry it would be, One who is available to Faithfully serve.
It was over 25 years ago when I made the decision to serve in ministry. Although, I was exposed at an early age to Ministry, it could have never prepared me for what I was getting myself into. A young single woman, eventually marrying, the pitfalls, the problems, as well as the persecutions one goes through in Ministry.
Personal calendars are organized around the Ministry. Your children are carefully scrutinize by others because they are the Pastor’s children. Last but not least, once you announce your intentions to the people, you must follow through!
By no means am I complaining or trying to discourage someone from the call of Ministry.
Ministry has it’s Benefits. One of the most amazing benefits I have experienced in Ministry is being able to see lives changes right before your very eyes, marriages that were on the brink of divorce being brought back together and lastly communities transformed through your service in the community.
If someone were to ask me what are the prerequisites that you must have in order to be successful in Ministry. One prerequisite I would definitely share would be a whole lotta Faith!!!!
